CEU Requirements

Instructors are to complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) per renewal period with a minimum of eight hours in teaching methodology per ARM 24.121.1105

Are you an approved continuing education provider?

The Montana Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists does not approve CE Providers but requires continuing education hours for license renewal. Center of Attraction Hair Gallery’s education meets the requirements for continuing education hours.

How do I renew my cosmetology license?

You must submit a renewal application online.

Is anyone exempt from the continuing education requirement?

Yes, first-year licensees do not have to meet the continuing education requirements until after the first renewal period.

Will you provide me with a certificate of completion?

Yes, a downloadable certificate of completion will be emailed to you upon class completion.

Do I need to show my certificate to IDFPR to prove that I completed my continuing education hours?

Upon request by the Board, an applicant shall prove completion of required continuing education credits by submitting a certification of completion.

Will you report my completed hours to the board?

No, Licensees must maintain documentation of completed CE for three years and provide documentation to the board upon request.
