Behavorial Signs

Fear or Anxious Behavior

A display of fear, anxious, or submissive behavior around certain people.

Avoidance of Eye Contact

Victims may avoid eye contact or appear overly compliant.

Unfamiliar of Location

Victims may not know where they are of where they came from.

Social Signs

Isolation

Limited interaction with others, including friends or family.

Control By Others

A third party may speak for the individual or control their communication

Inconsistent Stories

Victims may give conflicting or vague answers about their situation or background.

Economic and Legal Signs

Dependence on Others

Victims may have no access to their own money or identification.

Unpaid Work

They may be working without pay or are not allowed to keep their earnings.

Lack of Identification

Victims may not possess personal identification documents and may not be allowed to access them.
